Today was our last full work day (tomorrow is a half day). Team members worked vigorously, despite the continual lack of sleep and constant activity. We’ve represented our church and our God well, completing many much-needed jobs for the school. One part of our work week that is worth highlighting is the partnership with the student ambassadors.
There are four student ambassadors who are in the picture with us above. They are the ones wearing a kuspuk, which is a traditionally worn garment among native Alaskan’s. Each day they joined us in work, play, and during meal times. Through this time together, we as a team had the privilege of getting to know students who represented the target market of the college. And it was truly great to spend time getting to know them while doing life with them for a week! It made me think about our role as believers. We too are ambassadors.
Paul says it this way in 2 Corinthians 5:20 “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.” While we came to do ministry, ministry was done to us. Our team witnessed what an ambassador in action looked like. It was a beautiful reminder of how God has blessed us with a beautiful task.
