where to connect: adult
Sunday mornings:
- Worship at 8:30, 9:45 and 11 a.m.
- Adult Connections. We typically offer five courses every two months over our 9:45 and 11 a.m. hours, including studies in the Bible and in spiritual disciplines, and on various topics relevant to everyday living and various stages of life, such as parenting, personal finances, faith in the workplace, marriage issues, and more. We always make time to get to know each other, as well.
- Foundations will give you a basic understanding of the Christian life, including knowing Christ, living out your faith, and discovering your spiritual gifts and life mission. An excellent place to begin for those newer to our church or those who would like to live a more purposeful life. We offer Foundations on Sunday mornings each November-December and March-April.
Throughout the week:
- Alpha is an 11-week course for those interested in a safe place for exploring basic questions of life and the Christian faith, and includes supper, videos, discussion, and a weekend away. Our most popular course; over 400 people have gone through Alpha at our church in recent years. A great place to begin! We typically offer Alpha in the Fall and Winter/Spring.
- The Marriage Course. This seven-week Alpha-inspired course includes an intimate dinner with your spouse each week, engaging teaching videos, and special time set aside throughout each evening for you for private discussion with your spouse. Offered Fall and Winter.
- Celebrate Recovery is a place to gather and find God’s healing power through solid Bible teaching, sharing our experiences, strength and hope with one another, and accepting God’s grace to solve our life’s habits, hurts and hang-ups. Meeting every Monday evening, we welcome people from throughout our congregation, community and region to meet for worship, teaching, and testimonies, for open-share groups (including men’s chemically dependent and men’s co-dependent, and women’s chemically-dependent and women’s co-dependent), and for fellowship at our Solid Rock Café. At other times during the week we will offer more in-depth, biblically-based Step-Study groups to work more intentionally on our areas of healing and recovery.
- Midweek Worship and/or Studies. Various Wednesday evening options each season for worship, Bible study, personal growth, and fellowship. Topics vary; you are welcome to check it out any week. Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
- Worship Arts Ministries. Share your gifts while meeting new friends in our Chancel Choir or Praise Choir. Contact Nancy Holm (763-5659 or nancyh@alexandriacovenant.org for more information.
- DivorceCare. For those who are separated or divorced. This ministry includes Bible studies, DivorceCare video teaching, new caring friendships, prayer and special events. Fridays at 7 p.m.; Main Level, Ministry Center.
- Women’s Bible Studies. We offer several Women’s Bible Studies at the church each week. They use a large-group/small-group format and welcome newcomers.
- Men’s Bible Studies. We offer two large Men’s Bible Studies at the church each week—one on Thursday mornings at 6 and one on Friday mornings at 6. Both use a large-group/small-group format and welcome newcomers.
- Small Groups. Dozens of small groups meet weekly. Some meet at the church campus, many others in homes throughout Douglas County and beyond. We offer groups for men, women, and couples.
