Day Three: Co-Workers
“For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.”
Paul wrote those words to the Church of Corinth. We know from 1 Thes. 2:8 that Paul didn’t just simply share the Gospel and leave, he also shared his life with them.
As the vast beauty of Alaska is nearly impossible to explain, participation on a mission trip must be experienced. Sharing your life with both the people on your team and those you are traveling to serve has an impact that you have to live to understand. Watching the multigenerational dynamic of our team connect with the very diverse culture of Alaskan people has been a beautiful mosaic. One that seen, can never be unseen.
On the third day of working here at the college I can confidently report that all the tasks are coming along swimmingly. Sewing projects are getting completed, paint is mostly applied to the buildings (and in some cases a team member or two!), walls are going up in the new building, plumbing is happening, and many other signs of improvement and growth are taking place. But the real beauty is the “co-working in God’s serve” that is building this team.
Continue to pray for team members stamina, health, productivity, and opportunities to share share their lives and the gospel with those around them.
