I feel that this weeks church service on porn was very inappropriate. There should be no reason for me to remove my children from a worship service. This type of thing should be presented at an optional class. There was no scripture or gospel tied into this weeks message. Very disgusting! I have lost a ton of respect for this church! I have been trying to decide if this is really the place for my family, considering a Muslim, Mormon or others can fit right in and not be affected in any way. They are also works based religions, and I guess I believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, which is very rarely mentioned at sunday school or in the church services at the Alexandria Covenant church. This weeks service is what is really pushing me into leaving this church.

Hey Shannon! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We love hearing feedback from people, both the positive and the negative.

As we stated in the beginning of the message, our purpose was not to try to convince people that this is an issue, which is why we sufficed it to give some brief stats about how overwhelmingly common this struggle is for many men and women. If it's not a struggle for you, we praise the Lord for that! But it is indeed a struggle for many people in our church, so much so that it's appropriate to address it from the pulpit. If we did it as an optional class, most of the people who really needed to hear this message would not have heard it.

I'm sorry if you missed the scripture we were using, too. The entire message was under the heading of Colossians 3:5, as Pastor John and I both talked about. We also used Ephesians 4, Proverbs 16, and many other principles that are discussed throughout scripture.

We'd love to talk with you more about this, if you'd like. Please feel free to email me personally at tims@alexandriacovenant.org or call us at 320-763-5659 and ask for me, John, Steve, or Rol.

Thank again for expressing your concern, Shannon! We love hearing it!
