We’ve had another full day of activities, although we often find ourselves waiting for people, supplies, or directions for the next thing. A simple text or phone call is not an option, and then we have to walk everywhere. Especially when someone walks away with the keys needed somewhere else. Sorry Megan! It was market day today, Friday, so everything stopped after lunch for the hospital, students and community. Tom still fit in a few more patients. There are always more who need his care. Megan, Sydney and I painted the plywood for the ceiling. Scotty did some teaching for the nurses in between helping the guys with the ceiling. Meanwhile, Jennifer was at the KG talking with teachers about some hands on teaching options and creative ways to use some of the resources in the storeroom. This being the room the four girls had worked to clear and organize. Shelves were labeled and they got to see teaching supplies they really hadn’t been able to use. She gave them encouragement and some new tools for working in their very challenging setting. Tonight we also ventured in to the nearest town, Butijera, for dinner. Some opted for an Ethiopian burger and fries, while others enjoyed a lamb version of fajitas served in a bowl heated with coals. Yum! Everyone enjoyed a cold Pepsi or 7-Up! We have loved the 3 interpreters that have been a part of our group this whole time. They are 2 nurses and a dental hygienist. They have been good company and help make the work we do flow more smoothly. It has been said already that this has been an eye opening trip for each of us. I love how God speaks to each of us differently, and shows us new things about him, his world, and ourselves in each day. Thanks for praying!
