ways to serve: overview
Several ministry teams are in place with opportunities to serve. More information about our new ministry team format will be listed here soon. Examples include:
- Prayer ministries - Join us in the Prayer Room Sunday mornings to intercede for our worship services and ministries. Trained Prayer Team members pray for and minister others after services and at other times.
- Worship arts - Sing in choir or a worship team, play an instrument, read scripture, be a part of a drama team, help with decorations/visual arts, work with sound or media systems.
- Global missions - Help care and pray for our missionaries, promote missions, plan and participate in mission trips.
- Local missions, outreach and evangelism - Serve through our Alpha course, help with promotions, pray for pre-Christian friends, reach out to your neighbors, or help organize special outreach events. Teach Bible studies at the Douglas County Jail or provide follow-up care and discipleship to people transitioning into life outside of jail or prison.
- Care ministries - Help those in need with meals, chores, house or car repairs, transportation, or make care calls or visits within our church family and in the broader community.
- Welcome, fellowship and hospitality ministries - Help us reach out to new people, make friends and build community through church-wide events and through various stage-of-life groups. Or serve as a greeter, usher, Welcome Center host/hostess, or in guest follow-up ministries.
- Children's ministries - Care for and teach our children with involvement in nursery, Sunday School, Awana, VBS and more.
