Alexandria Covenant Church Travels

Travels and Our First Day

Travels and Our First Day

Our journey started at Alexandria Covenant Church on Saturday morning and ended nearly 15 hours later in Soldotna, Alaska. It was a long travel day including 6 hours of ground transportation and 6 hours of flying. The rest of the time was spent in process at the airport and such. Great team bonding time! Lots of friendships being formed.

Sunday morning came fast as the fishermen had to get up only 3 hours after going to bed. The rest of the team slept a little longer and attended a local church service. Both had a great time and met up just after lunch to view the morning’s catch (over 320lbs of cleaned fish!). An afternoon of sightseeing and a dinner hosted by one of the Alaska Christian College staff rounded out the day. Yep, it was a play day full of team bonding! God was clearly on the move as we had a lot of time to spend with each other and the people here at the college.

Tomorrow begins our work day. Please be in prayer for us that we’re able to quickly and safely accomplish much of the work we’re assigned. There is a great need for more classroom space due to the increase in enrollment. We are working to help them in this process, among other necessary tasks.

You really know the meaning of big when you have been to Alaska! I have made the trip 3 times and can't wait to go again. Seward is the closest I have come to Soldotna. Eat all the fresh sea food you can. Go with God on this adventure!
